Stam House   בית הסת"ם

Stam House is an institute specializing in the restoration of old Torah scrolls and the writing of new stam products: Sifrei Torah, Tfilin, Mezuzot, and one-of-a-kind illuminated Ketubot and Megillot. 

Yaacov Levy, director of Stam House, is an expert Sofer Stam with over 30 years of experience.  As the son of a well-known Rabbi and educator from Marrakesh, Morocco, Yaacov had the privilege to be guided  and trained by his father from a very young age, 

Yaacov is an expert in all types of writing customary today: Beit Yosef, Ari, Chabad and Sephardi. Sifrei Torah, tefillin and mezuzot written by Yaacov are considered to be of the highest quality and meet the most stringent criteria of Kashrut.

Yaacov's ability to imitate all styles of writing from different countries and different time periods, together with research he did on the subject of preservation of ancient scrolls, put him at the forefront of restoration of Torah scrolls throughout the world.  As such, Yaacov was chosen to participate in a film produced by the Israel Museum dealing with the recreation of the writing of the Birds" Head Haggadah.

Sifrei Torah that have been restored by Yaacov, from Canada, the USA, Europe, (among them the Sefer of the Maharal returned to the Alt-Neu Schul in Prague), including Torah scrolls from Israeli communities, the IDF, the ministry of foreign affairs and Hesder Yeshivot, reach a level of renewal which enables communities to enjoy them for many years to come.
